Lesson 10, Full Mock & Final Re-Test
All four parts, 55 minutes, real conditions. Then measure the distance from your baseline.
Part 1, The full mock
Conditions
- 55 minutes, all four parts in order, no pausing
- No returning to a finished part, exactly as the real interface enforces
- Log your four checkpoint times as you pass them
- Every question answered, zero blanks
Run it in the Celpora reading practice or with any full practice set.
Or take the full four-skill mock in one sitting. Celpora’s Full Mock Test A runs Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking end-to-end at real timing, then returns one composite level and a per-part breakdown, exactly the shape of a real result letter. Recommended if you’re within four weeks of your test date.
While it’s fresh: the two-minute debrief
The moment you finish, before scoring, write down:
- Which part felt worst, and why, time? traps? fatigue?
- How many questions hit the 90-second rule
- Where you caught yourself scrolling back
Self-perception recorded before seeing the score is diagnostic gold, it shows you where perceived difficulty and actual errors diverge. (They usually do: the part that felt worst is often not the one that scored worst.)
Part 2, Score it by trap, not by part
The per-part score tells you where you lost marks. The trap audit tells you why - and why is what’s fixable.
For every wrong answer, classify it:
| Error type | Tally | The fix lives in… |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword echo, chose familiar wording | Lesson 3, 4 | |
| Absolute accepted without a guaranteeing line | Lesson 4 | |
| Near-synonym treated as identical | Lesson 4 | |
| Unstated assumption, failed the pointing test | Lesson 4 | |
| Reattribution, right fact, wrong person | Lesson 8 | |
| Diagram misread, wrong row / footnote missed | Lesson 6 | |
| Ran out of time, rushed or blind-guessed | Lessons 2, 9 | |
| Method drift, wrong approach for the part | Lessons 5–8 |
Your top two rows are your entire revision plan. Most candidates find their errors are not spread evenly, they’re two patterns repeating. A targeted week on two patterns outperforms a general week on everything.
Reading the timing log
| Pattern | Meaning |
|---|---|
| One part far over budget, score fine | Method not yet automatic, re-run that lesson’s drill |
| All parts slightly over | Re-reading habit, run scroll-back-banned sets |
| Part 4 score collapse only | Fatigue + trap density, build stamina with back-to-back double parts |
| Fast finish, mediocre score | Rushing past the method, you have time to spend; spend it on elimination |
Part 3, The re-test
Sit a fresh Part 1 set, parallel to your Lesson 1 baseline, under the same 11-minute conditions.
Compare
| Baseline (Lesson 1) | Now | |
|---|---|---|
| Score /11 | ||
| Finished in time? | ||
| Scroll-backs | ||
| ”Torn between two” questions |
The scroll-back line is the one to watch. Score gains follow method; method shows up first as fewer re-reads. If your score moved but scroll-backs didn’t, the gain is fragile, it will wobble under test-day nerves. If both moved, the improvement is structural and it will hold.
Part 4, The final week
| Day | Focus |
|---|---|
| 7 | The full mock above + trap audit |
| 6 | Your #1 error pattern, its lesson, then one targeted part |
| 5 | Your #2 error pattern, same treatment |
| 4 | Parts 2 and 4 timed back to back (bankable + hardest) |
| 3 | Second full mock. Compare trap audit against Day 7’s |
| 2 | Light: one Part 2 for confidence, re-read your two trap defenses |
| 1 | Rest. Reading speed drops with fatigue more than you’d believe |
Part 5, Test-day checklist
The method card, one line per part:
- Part 1: question first, options covered, summary deferred
- Part 2: email first, row-then-column, check the notes
- Part 3: all statements primed, one pass, leftovers are E
- Part 4: speaker map first, cluster-jump, both checks on every answer
The discipline card:
- 90 seconds max per question, first pass
- Checkpoints at 11 / 23 / 35 / 48 minutes
- Eliminate before confirming; name the trap
- Zero blanks, the last two minutes fill everything first
- No answer changes without a nameable reason
Before you go
- Full mock completed under real conditions
- Every wrong answer classified by trap type
- My two dominant error patterns identified, with their lessons revisited
- Re-test sat and compared against baseline, including scroll-backs
- Final week planned, ending in rest
You’re ready. The section rewards exactly two things: the right method per part, and the discipline to keep moving. You now have both, trust them on the day.
