CELPIP Reading Questions

The Reading section takes roughly 55–60 minutes across all four parts, and each part is timed separately. Every practice set here is timed to mirror the pace of the real test, so you build the right rhythm well before test day.

About 38 questions in total, spread across the four parts (roughly 11 in Correspondence, 8 in Diagram, 9 in Information and 10 in Viewpoints). A few unscored trial questions may also appear, though you cannot tell which ones they are.

On the real test the parts run in a fixed order and you cannot return to a finished part. When you practice here we recommend the same order, since the parts build on each other and the difficulty curve stays gentle, but every set is open so you can drill any part you like.

Reading is scored by computer: each answer is right or wrong, with no penalty for guessing. Your total is converted to a CELPIP level from 1 to 12 that maps directly to your CLB level, and harder questions count for a little more.

Practice skim-then-scan reading, learn to recognize paraphrase (the answer rarely repeats the passage word for word), rehearse under the per-part timer, and always answer every question since there is no penalty for guessing. Reviewing why each wrong option was wrong is what turns practice into progress.

Each set is written to match the official CELPIP format, question types, and difficulty. They are practice materials designed to prepare you. They are not retired official test questions.
