Dear Aunt Rosa,
I finally have some news worth sharing. Remember the sewing machine you passed down to me last spring? I have put it to good use at last. Over the reading break, my roommate Cleo and I signed up for a costume workshop at the community theatre here in Fredericton, and we sewed outfits for the whole spring play. I could not have taken part without a machine of my own. The old one I borrowed from the residence kept jamming, and half its stitches came out crooked, so yours arrived at just the right moment.
