Dear Trish and Neil,
I saw the news about the hailstorm that hammered Camrose last week, and I was so relieved when your message finally reached us. It was a comfort to know that you are both unhurt, even if it stung to hear that your house took such a beating. Still, you came off lightly: a punched-through section of roof and a few shattered windows are nothing next to what your neighbours endured. The broadcasts showed the sheer wreckage the ice and wind left behind, the gardens stripped bare and the parked cars pocked and dented for blocks, and our hearts ache for every family that lost so much.
